I just wanted to play tennis. I started because I wanted to pick up another sport and then as I was slowly getting better I wanted to see how far I can go but I always wanted to be myself. I wanted to be original. I didn't want to copy anybody's style.
I look for the character to be something interesting, the script to have a good story and be original, and a director that I admire.
I don't try to be original; I just always want to do something that excites me.
Maybe you have a particular type of sound you want to go for, but if you really want to be original, there's no real recipe for that. For me it's just about letting it come to you... if you can let your head clear out, then almost anything is available.
People always ask me who my role models are and who I want to be like, and I don't wanna be like anybody; I wanna be me. I look up to a lot of people, and they have had great influences on me, but I wanna be original and different.
Always be original. Never duplicate what you've seen another actor do. Be true to the character that you've been given, and the rest will come easy.
That's the biggest thing: be kind and be original.
If you can just be yourself, then you have to be original because there's no one like you.
